Highway 3 & Highway 3A Resurfacing and Other Works, Castlegar, BC


This $4.6-million BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure project included:

• Traffic Management and Control
• Survey layout
• Cold milling and pavement inlay of Highways 3 & 3A from Ootischenia to Playmor Junction
• Remove and replace concrete roadside barriers
• Remove and replace quadrant islands
• Aggregate production and production of reclaimed asphaltic pavement
• Place leveling course and top-lift asphaltic pavement
• Apply emulsified tack coat
• Apply asphalt cement with anti-strip
• Curb and catch basins installation
• Shoulder work
• Apply joint and shoulder sealant
• Install temporary pavement markings

Highway 40 Approaches Realignment at New Smoky River Bridge, North of Grande Cache, AB


This project was part of the Alberta Government’s $200 million initiative to upgrade 180 kilometres of Highway 40. The project included:

• Construction of a new two-lane bridge over the Smoky River
• Earthworks
• Remove and replace guardrails
• Remove and replace concrete barriers
• Install granular base course
• Install bottom-lift asphaltic pavement
• Install pavement markings
• Landscaping

Traffic engineering services include:

• Construction staging for construction of new approaches. Requirements included implementing single lane alternating traffic with portable traffic signal lights
• Preparation of Traffic Management Strategy
• Preparation of engineer sealed Traffic Control design drawings meeting Alberta Transportation’s Traffic Accommodation in Work Zones Manual requirements

South Fraser Perimeter Road Construction, Delta, BC


This $1.26-billion Design/Build project entailed construction of approximately 40-kilometres of new four-lane highway, including 15 overpasses and three interchanges. The South Fraser Perimeter Road is part of Highway 17, connecting several high-speed highways and the Golden Ears Bridge. Services provided included:

• Construction staging
• Traffic projections
• Synchro analyses
• Determination of traffic queue lengths resulting from minor stoppages
• Preparation of detailed Traffic Control design drawings
• Preparation of technical submissions to road authority

Salton Road Pedestrian / Cyclist Bridge, Abbotsford, BC


This $4 million Design/Build pedestrian/cyclist bridge project for the City of Abbotsford entailed:

• Construction of a 4-metre wide clear-span, twin inclined tied-arch pedestrian/cyclist bridge over Highway 1;
• Construction of a separated bike path along Salton Road between Marshall Road and Highway 1; and
• Construction of a separated bike path along Salton Road, between Highway 1 and King Road.


Traffic engineering services include:

• Staging for median access
• Preparation of a Category 3 Traffic Management Plan
• Preparation of engineer sealed Traffic Control design drawings meeting BC Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure requirements
• Preparation of traffic detour drawings during full closure of Highway 1 for main span installation

Border Infrastructure Program: Highway #15 Four-laning and Utility Works, Surrey, BC


This five-year, $210 million Design/Build project was undertaken to improve the movement of people and goods to and from Metro Vancouver’s U.S. border crossings through an integrated network of road upgrades that will better link border crossings, ports, container facilities, industrial parks, airports and railways. Construction works included:

• Four-laning of Highway 15 (176th Street) between 88th Avenue to 32nd Avenue
• Construction of a new bridge next to the existing railway overpass south of Highway 10 to accommodate the additional lanes
• Sanitary main replacement
• Storm main replacement
• Water main replacement
• Electrical and shallow utility replacement
• Remove and replace traffic lights, and installation of new
• Remove and replace sidewalks, curb and gutters
• Install new catch basins
• Paving
• Landscaping

Port Mann / Highway 1 Upgrades, Metro Vancouver, BC


This $ Responsible for traffic signing and pavement marking design for Segment E2 of the Port Mann / Highway 1 improvements. Segment E2 encompasses the widening of Highway 1 from just west of 168 Street, to east of 216 Street. Traffic sign design entailed the determination of the sign type, and location of all guide, regulatory, warning, information, and school and pedestrian signs on Highway 1 and at the redesigned Highway 1 / 176 Street interchange. This also included determining the location of overhead HOV Lane signs.

Port Mann / Highway 1 Upgrades, Metro Vancouver, BC


Worked on the Segment E2 of this $3.5 billion Design-Build project. Work on this segement encompassed the widening of Highway 1 from just west of 168 Street, to east of 216 Street. Canada Line Light Rapid Transit Construction, Metro Vancouver, BC


This $2.1 billion Design/Build project was the third phase of Metro Vancouver’s light rapid transit system. The Canada Line entailed construction of 19.2 kilometres of track − connecting downtown Vancouver to the City of Richmond, with a 4-kilometre spur line connecting Bridgeport Station in Richmond to the Vancouver International Airport.

Sea-to-Sky Highway Improvements, Metro Vancouver, BC


This $600 million project entailed twinning of the two-lane highway.

• Preparation of engineer sealed Traffic Control design drawings
• Preparation of final traffic signage and pavement markings design drawings
• Detour route design
• Auditing the temporary traffic control measures implemented by the contractor to ensure they met Contract specifications, as well as monitor traffic operations and temporary road closures during night-time work to ensure traffic queues did not exceed specified maximum lengths and wait times.
