Regional Road 5 / Elm Street Roundabout Feasibility Assessment, Regional Municipality of Niagara, Port Colborne, ON


Traffic projections and intersection operational analyses for approximately 675 m of Regional Road 5. Reviewed accident data for the Regional Road 5 / Elm Street intersection, and assessed whether a roundabout would help reduce the number of accidents. Undertook a roundabout feasibility assessment. SIDRA Intersection used for analyses.

Analyses of existing and 10-year horizon traffic volumes (both vehicular and pedestrian) to determine the design requirements for a potential roundabout at the southwest quadrant of the university campus. Roundabout intended to replace an existing four-legged intersection which serves as the main access to Innovation Place, as well as several large surface parking lots on campus.
